In an HDPE/LLDPE plant, a package of 42” Tied Lateral, Hinged, and Gimbal Expansion Joints was developed for Cycle Gas Compressor piping. These bellows were made from Alloy 600, incorporating 2-ply testable technology with a leak detector to monitor inner ply integrity. The hinges were designed with special low-friction bushes, facilitating smooth articulation with minimal resistance. Additionally, each unit featured a removable full-bore sleeve to ensure uninterrupted flow of semi-solid particles, enhancing operational efficiency and system longevity.
