Clamshell Bellows

A clamshell bellows is a temporary repair solution for damaged expansion joints. It is particularly useful where the existing expansion joint needs to be repaired without cutting or opening the pipe. The unit is designed as a two-piece bellow, split longitudinally in our workshop, and the halves are match-marked to ensure correct alignment during installation.

Installation Process

  • All field welds undergo 100% dye penetrant testing by our qualified staff
  • The clamshell is fitted accurately in position.
  • Purge gas is used to minimize oxidation during welding for high-quality results.
  • The two halves are welded together on-site.
